Today’s Goal: Prepare for quiz 2

(1) Today we began (and should have finished) the study flipper 2 for quiz 2.

(2) Classes voted on a PBS Life Science video to watch.  Some classes didn’t have time to begin this video.  We will begin the video tomorrow.

Today’s Goal: Intro to heredity.  Be able to complete a Punnet Square to predict traits of offspring.

(1) Today we read “Section 2: Heredity” (p.23 in Life Science Packet)

(2) Next, we watched the video “Genes, Genetics & DNA” and answered the questions on p.27 in the Life Science Packet (1st and 2nd period did not do page 27.  We will do this in class tomorrow).

(3) If time permitted, we shared answers to page 27.

Thanksgiving Break

Today’s Goal: Intro to heredity

Students worked on (and should have completed) page 22, “Cells Grouping Together.”  Students picked 3 organ systems from page 22 and brainstormed all they knew about each for 5 minutes each.

Next, we watched the video, “Cell Division.”

Today we took quiz 1 (The Organelle Quiz).

We went to the computer lab to finish working on pages 59-62 (started on Tuesday in the computer lab) using the LIFE SCIENCE PACKET LINK to fill in the blanks. 

When finished, we began the Life Science Article 1 Assignment

If time permitted, students worked to complete any incomplete assignments.

Today, we completed the Venn Diagram on Plant/Animal Cells (p.20).  Then, we played the study game to help study.
